Dennis and Nova Maack are now retired professionals, who, after retiring did not want life to be boring. They joined the Peace Corps in 2003 and served in Eastern Europe in the former soviet republic of Moldova until 2005.
Dennis’ career has included 15 years in corporate life and nearly 20 owning a management consulting business. His areas of expertise included consulting in organizational effectiveness, management development, performance management, and compensation. He was a Methodist minister early in his career, attending seminary at SMU, and obtained his Ph.D. in Communications at the University of Kansas.
Nova has had careers in education, publishing, and executive search. She taught secondary English in public and private schools and now teaches ESL (English as a second language) to adult students in the Kansas City area. She was both a sales rep and a college textbook editor for a major textbook publisher. More recently, she has 14 years in executive search in the healthcare industry and was manager of an executive search firm.
Dennis and Nova are the grandparents of 2 beautiful granddaughters and the parents of a son and daughter-in-law, both successful professionals.
Nova and Dennis’ professional lives before the Peace Corps equipped them to be successful volunteers in Moldova.
